Subject: the year at a glance

Merry Christmas to all. this year has not been so great for music nationally (the Vines, the Hives, A, the Strokes, Doves..the list goes on) and locally i guess. the Regulars, Baxxter and the Starries are among the local bands who have called it a day, also Distophia lost Ben Washbrook and Halfcharm lost John Parkes. however Yellobelly and Panda Love Unit have sprung up from the ashes and are now rockin the casbirmingham just the way J.C would have wanted.
Shocked Elevator Family have had a moderately successful year. we killed dead our residency at the dreaded castle scruffies, got to playing the flapper, and got a lot better generally in the last couple of months. with new material recorded and an end of year gig at the flapper a-comin it's hard to say what the new year holds for SEF. Maybe the good train SEF is nearing the end of the rails. needless to say we'll always be building new rail until it's not worth it any more. maybe the new year will hold nothing but riches (especially with the prospect of out of birmingham gigs coming up), who knows, and who would want to...thanks for reading. have a merry christmas and a happy new year!
