i've never heard the hives, but if the nme are showering praise on them they're probably only reasonable at best or may well be total utter crap much like andrew w(an)k. i know this is just about the most obvious, unoriginal point in the world but it does get annoying when you have a band constantly rammed down your throats who aren't worthy of all the praise. yeah, the strokes are pretty good at the moment, but in a while when they have to release something new and a bit different they'll just churn out more of the same most likely, and that sucks ass. the music papers have been crap for a long time but recently they've been getting really bad. soon they'll probably start some big strokes backlash, cos they are stupid and circular like that. remember when they put all new metal bands on the cover after reading last year? what a load of cock. this has turned into a stupid rant that has said nothing new so i'll stop now. sorry.
