See, in Teutonic magic, there is a polarity theme, Male/Female, Sun/Moon, Etc.
The Men practice a type of magic based on the runes, called Galdrmagic, and the Magicians are the Galdrcraeftig, or the Vitki .
The women are thought to have more affinity for the dead and ancestor spirits, and are more in touch with their "higher self". The magic is called Shaedemagic or Seidhr, and it's practitioners are called Seidhkona(wicca). Males are called seidhmadhr.This is considered less advanced than Galdrmagic, but no less effective. The women are feared and given great respect as wise women and seers, the men are looked on with contempt, but no less feared and respected. You should always use some sort of protection when dealing with spirits, which will appear in the forms one expects, and follow the rules of contact that a summoner believes in. I don't know why this is, but one theory is that we all create our own reality,so when we call a being from another realm it has to follow the rules of OUR reality.
NEVER TRUST A SPIRIT CREATURE, SOME ARE GOOD, SOME ARE VERY BAD, But ALL are unpredictable. Again, I advise that one leave the spirits alone. You never know what you'll contact, or what you may be interrupting.
