I do agree with you on the point that the Misfits should never have gotten involved with Vampiro in the first place. I felt sort of insulted, in the fact that they'd go to WCW of all places. But I will NOT condemn Jerry Only OR Vampiro for what happened until I hear both sides. Ian expressed his emotions on the forum last night and it was understandable to an extent, but we have yet to hear from Jerry Only. Frankly, I plan on not taking sides in this duel Gabby has set up with Misfits.com and Jerry Only. I am waving the Swiss flag of neutrality. Either side will try to make it seem as if the other is wrong and they are right, like in all disagreements. To use a famous quote-

"Believe half of what you hear, and none of what you see."

You should wait for Jerry to speak on this before you make a conclusion, but don't rely on them for the truth. They have had a parting of ways and there will be a lot said from both. But in the end I would rely more on Jerry Only than on Ian for the facts. Bob Barnett will be looking over everything Ian says and will make sure that what is said is true, but not in it's origonal and full context- as do most managers/lawyers/evil scums of the earth. I due indeed think that maybe (and that's a BIG maybe) something here was incited by Vampiro UNDER the guide of Bob Barnett. We all know that Barnett is one evil bastard, and he'd do anything to make his boy look good. Either way you look at it both sides will be exaggerating. Dont get swept up in it...

As for punk and selling out, I don't believe there is such as thing as selling out a band in this instance. Everyone in the punk scene is pointing the finger at the other and saying "sell out." I go to local punk shows, and every band there expresses how anti-sell out they are (whatever the f*ck that's supposed to mean). In the end, when taken contextually in the form of "selling out to the system," every band that signs a contract is technically selling out to the system. This, to me, is not so. To quote a line from the father in SLC Punk (reccomended movie, MUST SEE!) "[They] didn't sell out to the system, [they] bought into it." The only bands that sell out are the ones who are drivin by the money. Some can say Danzig is a sell out for wanting the rights to the Misfits and all prophets that go with it, so be it. I really don't care. Any band that turns on itself for the money, such as the Dead Kennedys (I liked them too), is a sell out. Any band that signs the contract is not. Jerry and Doyle are getting closer to middle age, and with the two young members and them I am not surprised or disgusted by their change in style. I do, in fact, like it. Not as much as what they did with Danzig, but I like the twist. To me, it mocks pop rock and in the times is an appropriate slap in the face to the current industry. As for them trying to "appeal to a larger audience," I cannot blame them. I do, though, put blame on both Jerry and Ian for this. The Misfits are a band, not wrestlers, and should never have gotten involved. That does not change the fact that there was a parting of ways and the likelyhood of outside instigation causing this is most viable.

Outbursts are okay Vic, they help...
