Author: Regency Herald
Subject: ~*~ Proclamation from the Governor-Regent ~*~

*a herald clad in red walks up into the center of town, unrolls a parchment, and loudly reads the proclamation for all who have gathered*

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Gather round fellow citizens for a most shocking proclamation from the Governor-Regent.

*he pauses and clears his throat before reading from the scroll*

Citizens of Britannia,

Many have asked why I journied to the lands of Ilshenar alone, what was I looking for and why was I found tied in a damp cave. The story behind these events is a long and detailed one, but the result is what I wish to address this day.

Not long ago, I happened upon records concerning the disappearance of Lord British. It was this finding that led me to Ilshenar, and what I found was most disturbing. While I was bound in that cave, there was ample time to think on what I had learned, and now I know what I must do. Somewhere within our hearts, we have all hoped that our Lord British would return. I know that I have, but I now know that is not to be. Lord British will not return.

Therefore, as Governor-Regent of Britannia and our Lord British, I hereby disband the Regency as you know it and lay claim to the throne of Britannia. For too long now, the throne has been vacant. For too long now, the lands have been divided. This shall be no more.

Let all those who uphold Virtue stand with me. Together we shall build a stronger Nation and vanquish those who would oppose goodness, light and Virtue. The time for division has passed. The time for unity is upon us, lest the darkness shroud the light of this Kingdom forever.

May Britannia live long and Lord British find peace.

*the herald rolls the parchment and looks out over the crowd*

Our Sovereign understands that with this proclamation comes questions. A King's Court shall be held on Tuesday, December 3rd at 8:00 pm by the Eastern Sky at Castle Britannia in the throne room. The populace is invited to address the King with questions, oaths of loyalty and other business pertaining to the Kingdom.

*with a flourishing bow, the herald mounts his horse and hurries off to the next settlement, leaving the stunned crowd to talk amongst themselves*
