the worst part of it ... just as with "heavy metal made my child commit suicide and is evil". The ever eager to point elsewhere for blame general public will now point to tarot and all connected with it (wiccan, spiritualists) and say once again - "see how evil these things are".

Although the roots of the tarot are in the occult tradition, interest in the cards has expanded in the last few decades to include many different perspectives. New decks have been created that reflect these interests. There are Native American, herbal, dragon and Japanese decks, among others. It is spiritual searching for the "self". And gives out only what is put into it- thus it is the "self" that dictates how the information is used.

Like Islam- how many people look at it now as evil, when if you look at the actual words of the teachings there is nothing about what has been going on in Afghanistan that represents true Islamic belief, but because one person (like the shooter) or group (like al Qaeda) get publicity for their version of it everyone makes sweeping generalizations because they need to point to "something" as the reason because the belief that it is simply in mankinds nature to be evil is too horrific for them to contemplate.

Sorry for the downer message... just needed to vent I guess.
