I'm a single mom (for the last 10 years) with two teenagers. He's a Freshman, she's a Senior - Rhi aka DarkAngel, who a lucky few here got to meet in Ohio :-)

One of my most memorable days was when I decided that they were old enough for me to leave alone long enough for me to run to the store for milk - about 15 minutes total. They were 7 and 10.

When I returned, Rhi was holding a bloody rag to her forehead. To this day, I'm not 100% sure of the complete story...something along the lines of - he wanted to watch a TV show, she wanted to watch something else, he or she pushed, the other pushed, and on and on, until he picked up a toy and threw it.

She got stitches in her forehead, which was punishment enough for fighting with her brother.

His punishment...he had to watch ;-)

Now, they are actually human. They are warm, caring, funny, reasonable, coherent, likable people.

But it took a while to get them this way.

Days like the one you just had will pass.

I promise.
