Our young Mr. Lepus Giganticus would like to thank you for your concern, and wishes you to know that he is recovering nicely, thank you. Sadly, he suffered significant burns and lacerations, resulting in extensive scarring over most of his torso. While his ears are still rather...pink, they are mostly intact -- it is actually his pedal extremities that required prosthetic replacement. Although, the loss of said appendages is something of a medical mystery -- they were completely unharmed during the unfortunate incident; however, by the time he was received in the infirmary, they were no longer attached.

(I must say, quite confidentially, that the only two people on the entire campus without alibis are the cook, and the disturbing blond man who runs the academy gift shop. What motive either of them might have remains a mystery to me...)

Thank you again for your marvelous compassion. The outpouring of love from the school's students and instructors has touched Mr. Lepus deeply. (So much so, in fact, that he is actually considering withdrawing his massive lawsuit against the school.)

He should be well enough to leave hospital quite soon, but he has requested that I not reveal the precise date. He mumbled something about "going far, far away" and "getting the biggest damn head start possible", but I suspect he was simply feverish.
