FASHION ICON UNVEILS NEW LINE OF EPONYMOUS, DESIGNER PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS
PARIS, France - Dominique Boucher, internationally-known fashionista and former model-turned-businesswoman debuted her much-anticipated line of personal care products to an eager and celebrity-filled crowd at Maison de Dom this afternoon, just in time to make the February issues of W, Women's Wear Daily, Harpers, Elle, Paris Match, and FeMME.
Including products as diverse as lip rouge, aromatherapy candles, and mouthwash, the products will be available exclusively online, a first in the lucrative, upscale industry.
"We're not interested in just anyone's business," Boucher quipped to the press when questioned about the line's hefty price tag. "There's a reason these items are rated at the level they are. Are the prices exclusionary? Prohibitive, even? Yes. Are the items hard-to-find? Yes. Come on, people. I'm not running a Woolworth's, here."
Perhaps most-controversial among Salon de Boucher's inventory are several laboratory-generated items, such as Ret-ROTOX(tm), and an uber-space-age substance, patented under the moniker, "Clotton(tm)." In fact, several of Boucher's select items are not only still awaiting FDA approval, but also lack the industry-coveted Vorschlag Industries' Stamp of Excellence. Something that won't, in all likelihood, be easily overcome in the competitive market of designer personal care.
In response to questions, Boucher will only promise the Stamp is on its way. "Once Kenneth," she stated, referencing her past, well-publicized amour, "gets a whiff of L'EGO, our new fragrance, I have no doubt that whatever may be holding up our V.I. Stamp will become nothing more than a distant memory."
