Subject: Witchblade Question Entry
In reply to: DEHpenguin 's message, "Witchblade questions wanted!!" on 08:31:58 01/01/03 Wed

Sorry. It took me forever to get around to going through all of this thread to make sure I didn't repeat other folks' suggestions.

It's hard for me to think of Season Two. I mean, I think it almost physically hurts me. So many dropped threads, lapses in logic and abandonment of pre-established mythos. Oh, and the writing. I haven't rewatched any of the episodes since they first aired, though I taped them. I cannot imagine a day in future when I will _ever_ watch the finale.
But, anything for you, DEHPenguin. :)

Some others had really great submissions, asking questions that I've had. Here are some others...

1.) What is the use of giving an artifact as powerful (and apparently as "willfull") as the Witchblade--the Lance--to a bartender to hang over his mirror? Isn't that kind of like putting Talking Tina at the bottom of the stairs? Passing the Blade around the Murderess Row? Kind of irresponsible?

2.) What the freak was up with all the scattershot, weirdly apocryphal Biblical allusions/flashes in Season Two? I mean, it was like when they couldn't think of anything better they'd thrown in one.

3.) This one is actually something akarabid mentioned to me: Why can Conchobar have Witchblade flashes/flashbacks to previous lives? Only Pez, Irons, and Nottingham (all closely connected to the Blade) can have these, and yet, so can Conchobar.

4.) PLEASE someone explain to me what the significance of the flashback to Fiona/"Fey" was. They showed it to us in Season Two on an endless loop. If the Witchblade was showing Pez anything, it would be that redhead. Why?

5.) (also per akarabid) WHAT HAPPENED to Pez's caring about Maria Buzantis? Sure, so you don't charge into the Rialto guns a-blazing, but, sister, you totally _dropped_ the case entirely. Why would this affect you *so* much in Season One, and in Season Two she's just another dead girl in a city full of dead girls.

6.) Where was K.I. keeping Belt Girl in Season One? Huh? HUH? (In a small box?)

7.) Where was Jake's desk in Season Two? Did he have one?

8.) Was Pez ever going to realize the rewind took place?

9.) Was it the Lance that had Gabriel skewered to the wall in one of the variations on the dream in the finale?

10.) Did Pez just leave the lair after killing Irons? Did she not have a compulsion to call in what had happened? I mean, she is a cop--and it's not like she skipped town, and she apparently interpreted the scene as not her fault. What took place in the hour or so after Irons "died"? Did she just turn and walk out? Ditto for the ensuing moments after Nottingham came back to life in Consectatio.

12.) In Season Two was Pez post-Periculum or not?

Okay, I have to force myself to stop, because I literally could go on all day--and most of the night. Season Two really caused my "rant gland" to overdevelop. I'm taking medication for it now. It should return to normal size within the next six months. ;)
