Subject: good albums

mark once left a list of good songs on our website so i', leaving you a list of amazing albums that should be essential listening for everyone:

*beck - odelay (mixed-up funk and rockin' from the king of cool)
*frank black - teenager of the year (a lengthy helping of weird noise-pop)
*frank black and the cathoilcs - pistolero (super rock 'n' roll)
*devo - q:are we not men? a: we are devo (old old album of fantastic music from geek-rock pioneers)
*guided by voices - alien lanes (very short fuzzy songs [28 in 40 mins!] by the masters of melodic lo-fi)
*mercury rev - yerself is steam (fuzzy glorious noise from a band who've now gone pretty wussy)
*modest mouse - the lonesome crowded west (long, twisting songs of brilliance)
*neutral milk hotel - in the aeroplane over the sea (acoustic wonder meets distorted bass with lots of good horns and strange sounds in there too)
*pavement - westing (by musket and sextant) (a few good short songs and a lot of horrible noise. the songs are very ace and the noise, hmmmmmmmmm, interesting)
*pixies - surfer rosa (an amazing album from the best band in the history of the universe. though i know you guys don't like them)
*radiohead - ok computer (this album is very good. everyone knows that though)
*lou reed - transformer (very cool music)
*television - marquee moon (skinny guitar music. marquee moon is an amazing song)
*velvet underground - white light/ white heat (inspierd noise making from a band who were very very good. inspirational stuff)
*weezer - the blue album (keeping geek-rock alive with nerdy rockingness)
*frank zappa and the mothers of invention - we're only in it for the money (this album is very funny, strange and excellent. short, weird songs played by a very scathing man)

sorry, about that - it was sooooooooooooo nerdy. i feel all loserish now. i;m bored though and i thought that this would help you get a little closer to that archieve you want. maybe it'll even prompt some more messages. i'd be surprised if many people bothered to read it though as it's very dull. i'm very bored...

bye for now then,

lloyd
