Just read the statement of Sakharov's widow. Elena Bonner has always been an independent and wise woman and now she describes the situation very exactly.

Elena Bonner has addressed to world community in connection with last events on Middle East. By her estimation, " Israel conducts the necessary and justified war not with Palestinian people but with global terrorism, the syndicate of the terrorism which have united "Al-Kaida", Khamas, FATH, " Islamic jikhad" and others. And this war of Israel is not less fair in any way, than the war conducted with an antiterrorist coalition led by USA ". Meanwhile in Europe and in America " under the slogan of protection of Palestinian people the antiIsraeli hysteria inflames "." Who supervises over this hysteria and who pays to its heads - we do not know, - is spoken in circulation. - But it is fed by the speculations of experts on inevitable petroleum boycott, Saddam Husejn's blackmail and personal ambitions of some politicians and owners of mass media. Scope of this hysteria impressing - from the American students and the Hollywood stars up to the European scientific and Norwegian members of parliament, up to Europarliament and organizations of the defenders of human rights... " Elena Bonner concludes the reference(manipulation) so: " Either the terrorism, fed by the antiIsraeli actions, anti-Semitism, antiamericanism and personal ambitions of some politicians, wins in the world or our general human reason overcomes it. The third it is not given! "

Российская правозащитница Елена Боннэр выступила с обращением к мировой общественности в связи с последними событиями на Ближнем Востоке. По ее оценке, "Израиль ведет необходимую и оправданную войну не с палестинским народом, а с мировым терроризмом, синдикатом терроризма, объединившим "Аль-Кайду", ХАМАС, ФАТХ, "Исламский джихад" и других. И эта война Израиля никак не менее справедлива, чем та, которую ведет антитеррористическая коалиция во главе с США". Между тем в Европе и в Америке "под лозунгом защиты палестинского народа разгорается антиизраильская истерия". "Кто руководит этой истерией и кто платит ее руководителям - мы не знаем, - говорится в обращении. - Но ее подпитывают рассуждения специалистов о неизбежном нефтяном бойкоте, шантаж Саддама Хусейна и личные амбиции ряда политиков и хозяев средств массовой информации. Размах этой истерии впечатляющий - от американских студентов и голливудских звезд до европейских ученых и норвежских парламентариев, до Европарламента и до правозащитных организаций..."

Елена Боннэр заключает свое обращение так: "Или терроризм, подпитываемый антиизраильскими действиями, антисемитизмом, антиамериканизмом и личными амбициями некоторых политиков, победит в мире, или наш общий человеческий разум победит его. Третьего не дано!"
