There aren't enough of these types of books out there and remember the saying (paraphrased), he who doesn't remember history is doomed to repeat it. As well as making us aware of what shaped our parents' or grandparents' psyches (close the door, turn out the light, save that 1/2 cup of beans, those few feet of lumber, that rusty lock), people like President Carter bring alive a time that can very easily return - witness the devastation of the land just this year.
