Hi, I am 12 years old, and I will be competing in a Maryland SB prelim pageant. But I need help. I have never entered a Sunburst pageant before, so I need to know what gown I should wear, and what to do. I just got this really beautiful southern glitz type gown for Christmas a few days ago, but I also have an old dress I can still fit, but it is a non glitz type dress. What should I wear?? What are they looking for?? Someone natural or glitzed?? Any info would be great!! Thanks!! Happy Pageant Hopping!!!

My daughter did a prelim with sunburst and won wearing a glitzy dress we compete in the south. She is also 4. In the older division a girl won wearing just a little dress you would wear to school nothing special about it at all against someone who had the pageant dress. The reason she won I think was because she had poise and was very well spoken the other girl was not so it is important to speak clearly and have a little speech about youself and things you want to do when you grow up. And best of all have fun good luck.
