Subject: Sunburst Prelims Author: Anonymous [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 20:07:45 10/03/01 Wed Well, I have to say that the Sunburst prelims here on the East Coast have been good. I have been to a few in years past that have really been kind of hokey. You know, where girls in dragging dresses with gloves and parasols winning the titles??? This year it has been a group of really nice moms and kids. The winners I have seen were quite deserving. I sat and chatted and gave out the tips and advice that I never got when my daughter and I were new. The pageant in Poughkeepsie, NY was small, but there were moms "catching the fever" while standing there admiring the girls and the dresses. On our way in, I saw a mom dressing her daughter in a dress that they had just bought. This was about 15 minutes before start time. I thought to myself: "what a fun mom and how lucky that little girl must feel that her mom just entered her at the spur of the moment like that." Again, I will say that all I saw was a bunch of adorable, well dressed children with a bunch of nice, polite, well dressed parents. I think the word will spread and they will have bigger turnouts here each year. I give Sunburst prelims East Coast an A+ this year. I hope it continues.
