Hello, I am very new to with my 6 year old daughter to the pageant systems. I have a question, and I am looking for opinions. We went last weekend to a Sunburst Preliminary at a local hotel. My daughter won (tied, there were lots of ties) overall, and 2 side awards. my questions is about the girl that won first runner up- 2 weeks ago she had won overall and 2 side awards at the other local mall Sunburst prelim. She was telling the other moms that her daughter had won 2 weeks ago, and that she could not win at this pageant, (I think she was there just to annoy me, we have had problems in the past) Do you think she should have been allowed to do it again? Most of the girls in the 5-8 year old had never been in a pageant before and were probally doing it for fun or just to "test the waters" so to speak.
so it seems to me that she bumped some other girls from a first runner up place. She already had her fees paid for States. so why was she allowed to be in? mostly I just ignore this mom when she tries to have her daughter "compete" with mine, but this time, it really really bothered me....comments? suggestions? Thanks!

If she won the beauty title at the previous pageant, then she should not have competed. I don't see a problem with kids that did not win "trying again" locally for the practice. My daughter loves pageants, but sometimes gets stage fright. The advice from a coach, was to keep her going on the stage. We never know when she will freeze up, so I promise her that she can "try again".
