Subject: Soul of Britannia: Passing from knowledge.....

Moriath sat quietly in his stone throne out the front of the meeting hall. Filing into the room were his Brothers of the Night's Watch, with them were the hard men from the Virtuous Knights of the Realm and Praetorian Eagles. Moriath waited for all to be seated before he stood and addressed the gathering.

"Brothers of the Night's Watch, Lord Ronin and men of the Virtuous Knights of the Realm, Lord Raven of the Praetorian Eagles, I bid thee welcome to the halls of Castle Black. Tonight I have called the SDP allies together for the purpose of destroying the artifact known as the Soul of Britannia and putting it out of the reach of men.

"Our scouts inform me that Seth Darkmoor and his allies have uncovered our plans for destroying the artifact, and move against us. The Kindred, Flesh Eaters of Darkmoor and Bregan Daerthe have been reported as amassing strength to wrest the artifact from us as we try to destroy it. They have not, however, been privvy to one vital piece of information. We have not as yet found a way to destroy this artefact!"

Murmurs from the crowd rose as Moriath waited for quiet.

"Truth be told, we are not sure that it CAN be destroyed!"

Voices rose in disbelief, a few arguements broke out.

"Quiet!" Moriath ordered. "We do have an alternate plan. That is to bury the artefact in the bottom of the deepest darkest pit of sorrow known across the lands... Khaldun! The secret chamber within requires teamwork and precision to enter, the denizens tough to best, and the scum that visit the place make it near impossible to complete. We will however, be visiting said place tonight and burying the Soul there."

"Good choice Moriath," called Ronin, Lord of VKR. His words echoed by many seated in the hall.

"Is there anyone amongst us who is familiar with the workings of the levers needed to open the secret chamber?" asked Moriath.

Cabal of VKR stood. "I can escort us through Khaldun and complete the sequence of levers to enter the chamber milord."

"Excelent. Cabal shall lead us once we reach the dungeon. Ready your weapons, check your reagents, feed your horses and mount up. We depart in but a few moments!"

The meeting hall sprang to life. Raven stood and opened his reagent bag, a smile crossing his face. Turron hefted his mighty warhammer, comforted by the weight of his bone-crunching weapon. Ronin issued a few quiet commands, the Virtuous Knights of the Realm rose as one and left the hall in a military fashion to check on their mounts.

Soon all were gathered on the grass outside Castle Black. Fizzleby had organised the Night's Watch into two groups, one to be led by himself, the other prepared for Moriath. Burning Steel fought with his spirited war horse for a moment before joining the line of VKR patiently awaiting for a gate to open. Soon all were ready, and Moriath opened a gate to Yew.

Through the gate the gathered men went, then once again traversed several other gates and finally arrived at a cave entrance in Felucca. Once all had formed up in their groups once more the party moved into the cave entrance and wound their way through to the Lost Lands.

Upon entering the town of Delucia, Raptor had a messenger pidgeon swoop down and land on his outstretched arm. Unwinding the message from the bird's leg he announced "Shoko will be joining us. We must halt our advance till he catches up."

"Ok, lets go to yonder inn and await his arrival there" said Moriath.

The men liked the idea of getting a few ales in before battle, and promptly entered the inn. The innkeeper was overwhelmed by the sudden surge in business!

Soon Lord Shoko joined the gathered war party and once more everyone saddled up and moved out.

Whilst on the long trek out to Khaldun Tinuva and Mr Briarfield came galloping up to Moriath. "Milord, we've word that the Oceania Murderer's Guild awaits us at Khaldun!"

"Hmm, interesting. Warn the others, prepare for trouble ahead!"

"Aye milord. Will do!" Tinuva and Mr Briarfield rode around the assembled parties, letting everyone know that trouble awaits us at the dungeon.

Upon reaching the entrance everyone formed up.

"There was a spotter waiting for us as we arrived," reported Burning Steel.

"We should move quickly if we are to succeed in our mission Lord Moriath," added Ronin.

"Aye, however one party has not arrived yet. We need to wait for them to arrive before we press on," replied Moriath.

Soon all had arrived. With one final check of weapons and reagents all were ready. A chorus of "In Lor" rang out as each member was bestowed the ability to see in the darkness of the dungeon.

With that, the gathered warriors and mages stepped into the corridors of Khaldun.

"Cabal, you have the vanguard. Guide us to the first lever!" Moriath called.

With a flash of a smile Cabal reigned his horse in and trotted off deeper down the halls of Khaldun. The remaining members followed close on his heels.

Soon the battle was joined with the denizens of Khaldun. Skeletons, spectral armours, shadow fiends, zealots, and many others rushed in to join the battle.

"Don't get bogged down with this spawn of evil, there's still a long way to go!" called Moriath.

GenericX fired off the death blow to a spectral armour, grinned, and moved on. All around people were finishing off their opponents and moving, not waiting for more to rise in opposition.

Through the fray Moriath could see Lunaris firing off his spells in rapid succession in tandem with McZee, Spad providing cover for them, Tanus and Fizzleby working closely as a team, and Joshua interacting with all of them. The Brothers of the Night's Watch were doing well against these creatures of Khaldun.

Standing with Moriath was Raven, a glint in his eye and a smile fixed to his face as he channeled magic with a violence unexpected by many of the creatures coming towards him.

Up ahead Moriath could see the white and blue of the Virtuous Knights gathered near where the first lever should be, calmly, almost effortlessly, brushing the denizens aside as they awaited the rest of the war party to catch up.

"I dont understand it," said Cabal as Moriath arrived, "the lever should be here!"

"No matter, we'll move to the next position and see if it too has gone missing." replied Moriath. As he wheeled around to address the gathered party a call from the rear of the group rang out.

"Murderers have arrived! They're behind us!"

Quickly, with well trained efficiency, the Virtuous Knights wheeled around to face the new threat. The Night's Watch scrambled to form their groups and the first wave of murderers were upon them.

Among the group were a few "innocent" helpers, firing off hindering spells which were aiding the murderers.

BahamutX rode up to the assembled group, chuckled and yelled "Welcome to FEL" as he let off his first wave of attacking spells.

The next few minutes were chaos. The murderers of OMG were fighting well as a coherant unit, and aided by some "innocent" bystanders. Some of the Night's Watch fell in the first wave, most survived.

Raven spied a familiar face coming around the corner, and adrenaline raged through his veins. Spurring his horse forward Raven charged after Geriatric sending wave after wave of crackling energy into Geriatric's body. Seeing his target, Moriath charged forwards adding to the fury raining down upon Geriatric and moments later under their combined onslaught Geriatric's body crumpled to the floor.

With a maniacal grin Raven saluted Moriath and charged after his next target. Shaking his head Moriath started chasing his own target. Stepping through a narrowing of the corridor Moriath was suddenly faced with several of the murderers waiting for him. Turning to go back and gather support he found a stone wall had been conjured, successfully blocking his escape. Realising his imminent death Moriath began chanting a spell of attack. Light and pain exploded in his chest, and Moriath fell from his horse, life quickly fading from his corpse. With his last breath of life, Moriath rolled to the side of the corridor and wedged the Soul of Britannia in behind the stonework that had made the corridor so narrow. Content that the Soul could not be easily seen, he sighed and nothingness embraced him.

The battle continued to rage on, Ronin and Fizzleby franticly worked at removing the conjured wall of stone to save Moriath, alas they did not make it in time. Seeing the passing of their leader spurred the Night's Watch to greater fury, however superior knowledge of the halls of Khaldun and strategies to match the surrounds soon saw the Brothers of the Night's Watch fall one by one.

The Virtuous Knights of the Realm fought bravely, standing and fighting well. However, one by one, their numbers too dwindled till their light of Virtue in these halls of evil too was expired.

The Soul of Britannia once again passes from the knowledge of man to rest in an unmarked nook deep underground.
