Subject: Patch server changes

Message from FYI on the Origin site:

On Thursday, June 13th, at 2:00pm CDT, we will be replacing our old patch redirection server. For the most part, this change will be invisible to most players; however, some players with older clients may need to make some manual changes to ensure the smoothest transition to the new patching server.

If you see the following error message when logging in to Ultima Online you will need to manually update your “verinfo” file. (Please note that the error message below will appear only if you have the original version of Ultima Online installed on your computer.)

Could not connect to patch server
207.239.134.110:8888
Could not connect to a patch server
Make sure you have an active connection to the Internet via an ISP or a direct connection.
Trying alternate versioninfo file...
Could not read versioninfo file.
Your client may not be the most recent version.
You may be able to play the game with your current client.
Click OK to play the game or Cancel to abort.

To fix this patching issue you will need to edit the “verinfo” file that is contained in the Ultima Online directory, as per the following instructions.

· Click on your Windows “Start” menu, click “Find” or “Search,” and then choose “Files or folders…”
· Search for “verinfo” within your C: drive (or whichever drive has Ultima Online installed—the default location will be something along the lines of “C:\UO\verinfo”)
· Once you’ve found the “verinfo” file, right click it, select “open with” from the menu, and choose “Notepad” from the list of program choices.
· Within the file you’ll find a “207 239 134 110 8888” number string. Delete this line and replace it with:

12 161 70 25 8888

· Once this new number has been added, close the file and save it when prompted.

Once you’ve updated your “verinfo” file with the new “12 161 70 25 8888” string, you should be able to log onto our patch server and patch as normal.

If you continue to experience difficulties patching the Ultima Online client after this update, please review the information posted at support.uo.com
