I have the same problem. I have concluded that the dimmer switch is bad because the clock does not light up either when my headlights are on. I tried to remove the dimmer switch from the dash but it wouldn't come out. However, during my efforts (and because I was hitting the dash in frusteration) the lights came back on. So I concluded that there is a bad connection at (or in) the dimmer switch. he problem has come back for me now, though.
I resent having to pay over $50 for a stupid dimmer switch through a dealership. If anyone has any suggestions, please email me at heavylee@hotmail.com
