Subject: ticking bronco

i was told by many that my ford bronco's 2 crank shaft bearings had overlaped and i was woundering instead of tearing down the whole engine to replace the warn parts if i could drop the oil pan and replace the bearings there. i would appriciate any advice in curing my noisy ford.
