Subject: Terr ibly costly sub and amp problems PLEASE HELP

Hi my name is jake and i've been into this car stereo stuff for about a year and I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing..
ok first of all i have a memphis st1000d and 2 solobaric 15 l5's ok so I am running my amp at 1 ohm and that produces 1100 watts rms my solobaric are 1500 max and 750 rms so I am kind of pushing them. But any way I have been running this way for about 6 months and yesterday I blew one i guess. becuase it was making some crazy noise and so I took the sub out and looked at it while it was hooked up and there were sparks flying all over were the coil is so I guess I blew it ( they are dual 4 ohm so I have both coils going which lets them take the full 750 rms). So I am down to one sub and have it briged to the memphis and the memphis at 2ohm is 600w rms and the one sub today started making that noise not as bad but you can tell sometihing is wrong I haven't looked at it out of the box yet but I am thinking I maybe just blew one voice coil. And that is only 600 Watts so I don't know what the hell that is becuase this one ahve never given me any problems even at 1100 rms , so I heard somewhere that it might be some kind of A/C D/C converison problem with the amp I think its called cliiping or something ,and before I buy new subs I was wondering if it possible for this top of the line amp to do this or if my subs are just worn out. It would be a great help to me if you could answer this crazy question.

Thank you,
Jake

Jake
