Subject: ford explorer shutting off

I have a 1991 ford explorer drives well over long distances. Shuts off when stuck in slow traffic for a hour or so. Temp remains cool I have just refurbished engine transmission replaced radiaito etc for other reasons but this problem occurs seems to be electrical. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes and back to normal unless you are still stuck in traffic.
