I have a 1992 Lexus SC400. I have not driven it for a while because it stalls out. The car seems to be in great mechanical shape, however it does have 220,000 miles on it.
I think the catalytic converter is plugged up. Do these plug up at around 220,000 miles on most cars. Could I find a muffler shop to replace the catalytic converter with a generic one. How much does a job like replacing the catalytic converter go for.

Any help on this would be appreciated. The car has sentimental value to me. It was my fathers who is now deceased. Thank you for your time.
