Subject: Heater 97 explorer

I have a clicking nose comming from my dash near the glove compartment box, and when I turn the heat on , all I get is cold air. Went to the ford dealer, and he told me it was a actuator valve and was a common thing that goes bad. Heres the scarey part. he said about $900.00 to fix, becauce the dash has to come out and it would take abouy 10 hours of labor. HLEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is this true? Has anyone had the same problem???? John R
