Subject: 95 Mits. Galant low volume on radio

I bought a 95 galant from my brother. He had an aftermarket stereo in it but removed it and placed the factory installed am/fm cassette back in. Initially it worked however, it's volume is now so low it can barely be heard. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
