Here are four things that I think should be on top of our priority list in the next week: (in order)
1) sell tickets!!! We are currently working on flier distribution, possible radio announcements and newspaper ads. Erin suggested that we start posting about Faith and the Muse performing on different Gothic Boards, which i think is a REALLY good idea. We should ALL start doing that whenever we have a few free moments because they have fans all over the country. Also, we should create a specific flier catered to their fans, that we can pass out to Goth Clubs all over L.A. Erin also suggested the Sunday night one at the El Rey. Also, we need to get those invitations to the RAINN supporters list ASAP. Maybe we can work on those tomorrow, (Dor and Audrey and Jason and me), as far as typing out the Dear "so and so" on each letter, and stuffing them into envelopes. We can do that after we pass out the fliers in Santa Monica/Venice. Once we get all these fliers/invitations/other promo tactics out, we should be able to start selling more tickets and receive some donations. (just keep praying and crossing fingers)
2) Insurance!!! We need to get this thing squared away, because it keeps haunting me. Erin said we have a TOTAL of about $200 with raffle ticket sales so far. That is already HALF of the insurance money we need! So Christina, if you can talk to that one dude again and let him know we should be able to get the insurance in about a week to a week and a half, that would be AWESOME. Because if we dont' have insurance by 48 hours prior to the event, we can't even have our party.
3) Guest Speaker!!! I personally don't care who our guest speaker is specifically, as long as they're involved with RAINN somehow. How should we work this out? Should we have two of us maybe try contacting the Orange County Rape Crisis Center or other centers and ask around there? Whatever we end up doing, we have to do this SOON! We should have our speaker confirmed no later than a week from now. And also ONE back-up, just in case something happens to the chosen one between now and our party. Anyone who wants to volunteer to do this, please speak now. The sooner we tackle it, the better. If noone wants to do it, I'll force myself to do it by the end of this week...and I KNOW that I'll probably end up getting the worst guest speaker possible. so i suggest one of you guys do it :P
4) MORE FOOD AND DRINKS!!! So far we've been doing the best we can, and we've been getting a few good responses. However, we still need a bit more food and drinks and desserts. I will follow up on more of the restaurants on Tuesday, including Harbor House and a few more that were initially interested. Let's just keep trying to e-mail/call as many as we can, and pray to god we get a few more donators.
