Here it is, the top 7 reasons NOT to buy a Buell:

1) You want to be like everyone else: You can't rub elbows with the cool Suzuki riders unless you ride a 'zuki too.

2) You want something reliable: In my 10,800 miles of 1 Buell ownership, not all miles with the front tire down, some miles in quarter mile increments, mine needed repairs once, to fix a broken wire. (It was recalled earlier but I
forgot to take it in)...Don't get a Buell, it may not break, then you'd have nuttin to complain about now wouldja.

3) You need something that handles well on the street: Don't test ride one. It may give you a new perspective.

4) You need something fast at the dragstrip: An old 1200cc Buell will pull high 11's, not fast enough for you? Put a bar on it and run 10's.

5) What wins at the track is important to me: If a Buell turns a lap time a half-second slower I can't ride it because I am Nicky Hayden. Do you get your knee down? How many road corse races have you and your current bike been too? Are you actually planning on entering one? Have you road raced before to know what good handling is? Are your tires feathered on the edges? That SV650 is a better choice for you. That half second lap advantage will help close up that gap when you are 10 seconds off the pace anyways. Maybe the Ducati is better, but it will set you back a few thousand more, and it will never be an American sportbike.

6) You need something to puff your chest up. Ahhh!! YOU NEED A BUSA!!! Nuttin says small penis like the largest displacement, fastest production sport bike ever made. (according to magazine test articles) Hawww Haww Haaaww! Sorry, I couldn't resist, I'm a bit sleep deprived right now, no disrespect to those busa boys. Heh heh heh..still chuckling..

7) Screw American! : Who wants to buy something put together by a fellow American idiot like yourself. So what if it helps the economy right here in the USA. Screw us, when I grow up I wanna live in a trailer house. When I shop I always look for that "Made in Tiawan" sticker to help insure American jobs like mine. American pride? Nope not here, unless the trade center goes down, then I'll wave my flag.

Yes I own a '98 Buell S1 Lightning and put the first miles on it. I also have a ZX12R. The Kawasaki is best at running 130+mph and large curves (which I don't do often anymore) The Buell is much funner to ride in town than any 4 cylinder bike. Very similar to the Japanese twins. The Buell is also awesome in the tight twisties (Ozarks) My only complaint is lack of a full fairing. When I ride 150 miles out and it starts raining, I'm a wuss and want some plastic to hide behind. When Buell makes a fully faired bike (Duc 996ish) I'll buy it and have the Kawi around for dragstrip passes.

Don't ask the guy next to ya what kind of bike to get, he doesn't know either. Think for yourself......or not.
