Stop by Topeka HD; most of the guys either own or ride bikes made in Japan. Last year Larry James (Manhattan) had a friend come into the shop with a shirt on that said "If they made a plane, would you fly in it?". He had forgotten where they had planned to go and didn't even know he had it on when he went into the shop. Before he left all the mechanics had gone up to look at the shirt and have a good laugh. Instant conversation piece! (by the way, they did, and nobody rode in it...good choice). The mechanics all laughed and joked about how HD really had made a plane and how none of them would ever ride in it.

Yeah, there are some butt-hole HD guys out there who spread that brand-hate crap. But, there are an equal number of Japanese bike riders, European bike riders, Wingers, whatever(!) who excell in the alienation department, also.

Bikes are for people. Attitudes are for 'butts'. Give other bikers a chance before you cast judgement; wave first, that way if he doesn't wave then he's the one that's a butt, but you were cool. Cool HD people exist and some own and ride Japanese bikes; it's called the American way: FREEDOM OF CHOICE. Wanna be patriotic?: join the military. I did and nobody tells me what to ride.
