Subject: More Information about Hodges mid-term

I am still working on the mid-term. The exam will be similar in design and difficulty to the sample mid-terms in the conference room. For your exam, here is the tentative breakdown of points by chapter; Chapter 1 CO=10, Chapters 2 and 3 CO=20, CA=20, Chapter 4 CO=8, CA=6, Chapters 5 and 6 CO=12, CA =12, Chapter 14 C0=6, CA=6. Note CO is a concept question and CA is a calculation. The calculations from chapters 5 and 6 will be open book. Note, all questions will be taken from chapters designated as "prepare" on the syllabus.

Only the questions requiring calculations from Chapters 5 and 6 are open book. This represents about 10% of the points on the exam. The remaining 90% of the points are closed book. Thus all of questions from Chapters 1-4, 14, and concept questions from Chapters 5 and 6 are closed book, closed notes.

Also, from Chapter 3, you are responsible for being able to interpret all ratios from page 87. If there are calculations requiring ratios not included in the 14 ratios, from page 87, that you were asked to memorize, I will give you those formulas.

Hope this helps.
