Hi wheat, glad you're back from San Diego so you can get back to chasing down those elusive old gold coins and other goodies..LOL..
Yes, I think there is a pretty good depth loss on the 4" coil.I Think the deepest coin I dug was about 5". I went back to the house next door to the house site I have been hunting today with the stock 8" brown coil. I went over this area Wed. gone with the 4" coil. I found 80 more pennies, 3 dimes, 1 quarter,3 nickels, and ten more wheat pennies today. Wed. I found 83 pennies, 4 dimes, 3 nickels, 1 quarter, 6 wheats and a gold plated ring with the 4" coil here. All three coils find coins where the others have been.
That's pretty much in line with what I believe. I believe that you can't completly hunt a place out..Seems you can always find something else...LOL...........Glenn...
