Subject: Wheat's Living Large....

Have'nt posted in a while. Quite honestly the detector was doing a scientific dust test in my closet. Broke out early today from work and back to the location where I dug that 1916 penney shortly ago. Yes the sidewalks were still tore up still. First thing I dug was a thimble. Always wanted to dig one. It's old. When I dug the next target I thought it was a medallion that connects on to a chain, because I thought I saw the where the chain connects to the piece. It was encrusted beyond recognition so I stuck it in my pocket figuring I'll clean it up when I get home. Did'nt think nothing of it. I've dug items like this before so I did'nt expect much. I got home and literally washed it in the sink and washed off an area until I read Liberty. I damn near thought I would die. I stopped and put in olive oil. Sorry no date yet to tell you. This much I know it's a Turban Head or a Coronet type. Yes it's my best dig ever and what did I do. I scratched it when I dug it out of the ground. Thank God it's not a Chain Cent. FWIW, take it slowly during your target recovery. I learned the hard way..HH...Wheat
