We have to remember the circumstances surrounding each character's death, especially Maggie's. She willingly turned off the security system to let the killer in, so it was obviously someone she knew and trusted. If it was one of the suspects, she would have known better than to let any of them inside.
It is not Nicole because she is too preoccupied with killing Victor and getting Brady into bed. It is not Tony because even though he had a motive, he would not have killed Cassie since he still cared for her as his own daughter. Victor would not have killed Caroline because he loved her. Kate would not have killed Roman on their wedding day. Rex would definitely not have killed his own sister. Sami would not have killed her father or Caroline or Maggie. Lucas would not have killed Maggie, who was his AA sponsor (even though it is suspicious that she was killed with an alcohol bottle). There is a valid argument for all of the suspects and they have all had an alibi for at least one of the murders, therefore it is someone else.
We know that Stefano is still alive, but I don't believe he is behind the killings. I think he is behind the whole "John will kill Marlena" thing. I am almost 100% sure that the Marlena there now is Hattie brainwashed by Stefano into thinking she is Marlena and when John finds out, he will kill her but something will happen to him before he can tell everyone that it was really Hattie so they will think he killed Marlena.
Back to the serial killer...We know now that it is a woman. Celeste's visions are always coming true, and on more than one occasion she has looked through the mask and seen through the killer's eyes, which leads me to believe that she is the killer. I seem to recall her looking through the mask after Roman's death and seeing his murder from a first-person point of view, which could have easily been a memory, not a vision. Celeste has always been a little 'out there' with her premonitions and everything, but maybe she just has some sort of chemical imbalance, or maybe something happened to her (brainwashing or otherwise) seeing as how she spent A LOT of time in the DiMera mansion when Lexie lived there. Granted, she has no motive for killing the victims, but sometimes the best serial killers have no specific agenda. Think about it...the victims were not ALL Bradys (Abe, Jack, Maggie), they were not all the same gender or age group, and even though they were all connected in one way or another, who in Salem ISN'T connected to everyone else?
I have also read recently that people think the killer is Philip. That just doesn't make sense to me unless they pull out another brainwashing storyline, and now they said it is a female so he is out of the running. It has to be Celeste.
Those are just my opinions, and if someone can give me some information that I am lacking, please let me know.
