being a christian myself i am shocked to read that Pat Robertson said such a thing. It's that kind of statement that gives Christians a bad name....obviously.
I have a deep faith in God, and in Christ...I believe whole heartedly in all He stands for.....and I speak against all Christians out there who think that it isn't OUR fault...our meaning Christians.
We are called by Christ to stand against sin and to live for Him. In living for Him, that includes not condoning such things as homosexuality, abortion, etc. but the fact that any of these things got taken as far as they did is because we as Christians failed to speak up against them. To blame the downsliding of society on society is horribly wrong. It's not society that's wrong, it's our hearts.
We as a nation need to pull together, and coming together is not going to be accomplished with blaming anyone but ourselves individually. Looking at our own life and thinking what could have been different.
I believe that this war is as much spiritual as physical.
Pat Robertson should be the first person to realize that in the whole Old Testament, when God the Father attacked a nation, it was because they failed to follow His commands and law. But, it wasn't the heathen countries he demolished, it was His Israel. His chosen people...they are the ones that He punished so severly. Because they failed to look to Him. If God looks down on the USA and is choosing to put an attack on it, it is because His chosen people, His believers-myself, Pat Robertson, and countless others, have failed Him. Have not served Him as we are called. We have not stood up for Him.
I speak on behalf of many Christians when I say that I hold no truth in Pat Robertson's statement and I apologize on his behalf.
