The only line I (slightly over 35) have to disagree with is this one: "We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them."

We never knocked or rang the bell. We walked to a friend's home, stood on the porch and called for them. "OH, Kath-ee-ee." If Kathy wasn't home, her parents didn't have to be bothered opening the door. We'd just go back home. If she was home, she'd come out. Nice system. Hearing, "Oh, Laur-ee-ee," was much better than the personalized ring of my cell phone.
