Subject: Happy New Year!

2003 is upon us, and a lot has changed in 2002. As of late, I think many of you, like me, have been spending a lot of time doing offline things. This is a good thing; however, glutton for punishment that I am (and partially due to tint giving me 50 lashes with a wet noodle), I am resuming a light =poet= schedule for 2003. Initially, it will likely only involve 1 or so events per week, ranging from =Poets Night Out= (1st Monday every month at 9:30pm eastern) to our usual variety of =poety= events to some intersquad matches with the Tubbers and Monopoly (possible other teams to be added based upon interest). TA has recently voted down keeping of stats or a ladder at this present time, so all intersquad matches are just for fun (c: However, TA will be hosting a wide variety of monthly TA Tournaments. For which, we'll host our usual =poet playoff tourneys= to see who 1st option to represent us.

Basically, it's all up to you guys. If you participate and want to keep this schedule or do more, all you need to do is show up/sign up. If there's no interest, I'll curtail the schedule once again. For now, we'll host our events in AcroChallenge. It seems to be working better than ever. There is a new version of Acro, Acro2, which I hear is very reminiscent of the Acrophobia we used to know and love. Unfortunately, it does not work for me at this time. It is still in beta test format; so, as the year goes on and the final version of that game is released, we may transfer much of our activity over there. Also, Flopside has indicated that Acrophobia could be rereleased early this year. I, for one, am not holding my breath. But stranger things have happened.

If there's one thing I've gained over the past year, it's perspective. Getting out of this chair I am now sitting in to type this was a good thing for me. Though I always had a full real life schedule, I definitely spent way too much time with my butt parked right here. In giving this another go, my goal this time will be to have a better balance.

Please leave me a message here or write to me at our team mailbox with any comments or suggestions. Or just go sign up for events once again. There are only a couple of them posted so far, but I'll be adding as I go along. If during our hiatus, you joined another team, please let me know if you'll be returning to the =poets= or are happily moved on to greener pastures. If you've retired and wish to participate, do not stand on ceremony. Just do it (c:

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all good health, reasonable prosperity and a year filled with rich and true relationships. May you and yours be surrounded by love and peace in 2003.
