Subject: A strange dream ...

The Dream
So, I get to the reunion/meeting of a bunch of people I know mainly from online and there's a few people there that I recognize right off the bat from having met them before and a few people that I can only guess who they are by having seen a picture at some point in the past.

There's like a classroom setting and a stage across the front of it like an auditorium for giving lectures. Each of the desks has a computer on it and I am thinking that I should have brought my box from home. It would only have been my machine and not my monitor, though.

There's a list of real names on the wall and it's a long one and you have to figure out where you come in the rotation. I have a feeling of a LAN party mixed in with the meeting of people and it's all organized.

Frustrated by the number of people there that share my first name, I recommend using handles to identify people and someone moves up on to the stage and starts writing it out. I can now see that my name comes up 4th in the rota.

I turn to sit at the desk with the computer and bemoan the fact that the computer is now gone. There had been some kind of scheduling conflict and another group needed the use of the machines and they have summarily removed all of them to another location. (fast movers)

There are a couple of tables set up with snacks and food that is to be used for our now non-LAN meeting/reunion and I learn that the group that was removing our computers is now looking over our food. The idea that they might take that as well is infuriating and the food is removed from that location to a place where it won't be disturbed by them.

We take seats at the meeting according to the layout we would have used at the LAN party and I now find that I am at the front of the room and all my friends are at the back. I recall that I was thinking about bringing my computer, but that it would have been a waste of time anyhow and even thinking that I could have gone to get it would have wasted a large period of time for naught.

We then get out the food and as we walk the tables, a friend is behind me and makes mention of a touristy fact to someone else and that someone else is rude and says they already know about it and aren't feeling well, but they didn't need someone like my friend to tell them about it.

This also gets me angry, since this is supposed to be fun and some people are trying to ruin it for others.

It's right around this point that I wake up.

What would Freud have to say about that one ?
