Subject: Spring cleaning (computer geek style)

So, it's probably been creeping up on a year and a half or more since I broke down and reloaded my system. I decided that I might be able to tweak my performance a little by doing a complete reload.

While a good idea that seems like a simple chore in theory, it's a pretty monumental task. I mean, I have to sort through a ton of stuff and figure out what's good and what's useless. There's more of the latter, but that doesn't mean I can delete things willy nilly off my drive.

For the last two days, I have been going over how often I use some things that are installed and trying to get a reload priority settled in and that way I can print out a task list and scratch things off as they are plunked onto my virgin operating system when I do perform the format.

I have a fair bit of stuff to burn off my drive in anticipation of the clearing. It's an 8.2 Gig drive that houses my Op system, so it's no mean task since 7 Gig is being used.

Not to mention the fact that I should prolly do some spring cleaning on the other partitioned drive that's another 20 Gig.

*sigh*

When I finally am prepared to reload, it's likely gonna be an all day thing since each of the programs that gets installed has to be tweaked with a few settings to the way I like it and there's going to be countless reboots. Ugh.

Oh well. It does need to be done.
