Subject: Serious time here.

Most of the stuff I post is not-so-serious, but I would like to take a break for a bit here. Posting this as yet another original post may take more space. For that, I apologize to any of you scrambling around to find the next post in a thread, as this has definitely been the hot topic du jour.

When my post is in a serious tone, it can go a long way. Without further ado...

Okay, with all respect to the sides, I get tired of hearing the same old crap about exclusivity, snobbery, and the like. Acro Challenge has made it possible for password-protected rooms. Why? Because they are TA-friendly for the most part. Other people besides TA players expressed wanting the same before the fall of Acrophobia. Now, I know that teams are not everyone's cup of tea. That's fine. Also, I'm sure that you can understand that a team match is a prepared event in which most slots are filled. It is at the discretion of the team captains as to whether anyone else gets in, and that's the way it should be. If we play exclusive games, it's usually because we scheduled some type of intrasquad team play. Sometimes, we play in an open room too. Shoot, last weekend we were gonna play some casual adult in an open room in which we stated the rules in the room name. We got bumrushed by about five or so unfamiliar players at the same time. They were totally and literally un"rule"ly. What did they do? They mocked us. Is that fair? Well, it was a public room, BUT they could've started their own room. I wonder if they were even 18.

Personally, I have played this game for a little over four years now. (wow!) I have been on two teams. I've seen teammates come and go. I've seen fellow room players come and go. I have come to know some newer players too. I enjoy the company of most people that I encounter in Acro.

Man oh man, there was a time when Mugsy and I would be online on a Saturday afternoon; and we would go into one of the age rooms or something. Why? Because we wanted to play! Sometimes, we'd see other familiar people in there too. Usually, we'd be "outnumbered". That was okay. Yeah, the styles clashed, but we still had a good time.

Why don't we do that anymore? I've played a long time, and she's played a long time. There's just a certain amount of acro one can play after four years. No, I'm not saying that we still don't have any quality material, but it's not all about that.

There's a lot of players back from my "old days" that I hardly see anymore. We may have had our differences (in style, team play, etc), but I still enjoyed playing the game with them. It's kind of like a rock group in a way. You're excited about everything at first, then there's individual problems. After that, you have interfighting and break up altogether. Later on, you have a reunion and it is so sweet! (well not for all, but some)

Life is about variety, diversity, and learning to cope with yourself and the world. I don't think anyone can really say that he has it all together. If we didn't have our differences, life would be boring, right?

I may only play topics 1% of the time, but I have actually done well in some topic matches. Does that make me less creative when playing no topics? No, it doesn't; and when I play topics, I still try to be as creative as I can be. I'm not advocating that there is a better way here, folks. I'm just saying that I usually have a preference of playing with no topics... plain and simple.

I make choices as do all of us. I happen to be fortunate enough to live in a country where choice is not just a right, but also a privilege. That, y'all, is a good thing. I'm a Southerner, obviously, but also an American. Darn proud of it!

Anyway, just wanted to throw out facts and try not to be too debatish as it is not usually my style.

As I always say, "Peace, love, and animal crackers!"

Had to throw that in. ;)
