In other news:

-- Former New Jersey Nets star Jayson Williams is involved in a case in which a chauffeur was shot and killed during a party at Williams' house.

That's just a huge mess. No further comment.

-- Oh, those Glazers! The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finally hired someone. It's now ex-Raiders head coach John Gruden, who signed a 5-year $17.5 million deal with the Bucs. In turn, Oakland gets Tampa's first- and second-round draft picks for this year, the first-round pick in 2003, and the second-round pick in 2004.

Who's next for Oakland? I'm not sure. They need defense though.

That sure was a lot of picks to give up. Do the Bucs have a winner in Gruden? Time will tell, but I tend to think so. With realignment, they will be in the same division with Atlanta, Carolina, and New Orleans. I can see New Orleans (if they play like they did before losing their last four of 2001) giving them a run for the division, but that's about it. He's shown that he can coach a team to the playoffs. Can he at least get to the Super Bowl? Hasn't been done yet, we'll see. He has St. Louis and Philly in his way for sure.

-- The Houston Texans had their expansion draft on Monday. Their first pick was former Jaguar offensive tackle Tony Boselli, who has had his share of injuries as of late. This guy is definitely a future Hall of Famer though. Rounding out the top 5 were former Giants off. tackle Ryan Young, former Jet and Houston native Aaron Glenn, former Oiler and Jag defensive tackle Gary Walker, and former Ravens linebacker Jamie Sharper.

They also picked up Jermaine Lewis, a speedy kick returner from the Baltimore Ravens. However, they picked up another kick returner, former Seahawk Charlie Rogers who they like at that position possibly. Lewis may finally get his chance to be more of a wide receiver. Of course, he likes playing whatever they want him to play.

Quarterback? They chose Danny Wuerffel as the 17th pick. They already picked up free-agent Mike Quinn before him. Quinn has logged a lot of back-up time as well as Wuerffel, a former Heisman trophy winner who led the Florida Gators to a national championship. The big question that seems to be looming is "Who will be the first pick in the NFL draft?" A lot of people think that it will be a quarterback like David Carr from Fresno, but they probably need to be looking at getting a decent running back. Drew Bledsoe's name has been tossed around as a possible pick up for QB. He appears to be not going back to New England.

Will Acro go to a draft? Have franchise players? A salary cap? Um, no. Thank goodness!
