Tonight, at sundown, begins the Jewish New Year. The Jewish high holy days, Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, are usually tense times in the Middle East. Much like here in the US between Christmas and New Years, the people of Israel are extremely busy with travel, family, friends and participating in various religious traditions over the next ten days. Sadly, this has been a time that these terrorists tend to gear up )c:

A prayer for world peace on this new year's day in hope that the population of this planet will live in harmony amidst all it diversity. A prayer that, someday, we will look at cultural and idealogical differences as something to be treasured, not trashed. A prayer for strength for the families that have been torn apart in the past week and for the the true heroes of everyday life, the public servants that put their lives on the line each and every day for less than a significant amount of money. A prayer that the soldiers that will fight this war on terrorism will be protected. A prayer that hope and faith will prevail in the face of the pure raw evil.

Happy New Year to the people of Israel that live in the homeland and around the world.

Shalom.
