I can see that you really do have it rather bad in your area. Our league operators treat us much better, and it sounds as if they're quite a bit more open and honest with us, as well. We play two or three nights a week, with different formats each night, and the quarters cost $3 to $3.50 per player. The league fee is $5 each night, 100% of which is returned to the players either as cash or pins and trophies. The cost of the end of season party is also deducted, though it doesn't cost much. Budweiser contributes a keg or two for the party, too. Our NDA fees ($6 or $8) are deducted once a year, or we can walk in and pay it up front. The quarters are the only reward collected by the operators (also an amusement company).

Our stats are regularly reported to the NDA, and many of us are listed on the NDA website. Our league operators also keep us posted on NDA-sanctioned tournaments and handle all the registration details for those of us who want to play. Right now we're on hold, as many of our players are in Las Vegas this week for Team Dart, and the operators are there for moral support, and as officials. But next week we'll be back to darts as usual, and our Team Dart players will probably have their pictures advertised on the screens of the Black Widow machines. We're quite proud of them!

I hope there's some way you can work with your operators to improve things. If the players don't come first, they risk losing their businesses, as we're the ones who put money in their machines. Or perhaps you can start your own company and demonstrate how the game should really be played:-)
