Subject: HAGAN/DAFINNRUDHAGAN, OLSDATTTER/SATHER

I am looking for any information about my great grandparents who were born in Nord Odal, Hedmark, Norway in 1872 and 1873. He was born Karl Andersen Dagfinnrudhagan (Flaekkerud) 26-FEB-1872. On 12 July 1889 he boarded the "Angelo" in Christiania for America. At 14 he joined his father and grandfather as a cobbler in the king's court. His name became Charles Andersen Hagan in America and went by C.A. He went to Canton, South Dakota where he later married Lennie M. Sather(American name)on 4 Nov 1894. The couple lived in the Hawarden, IA area until sometime in the 1920's when they moved to Canby, then Granite Falls, Yellow Medicaine Co., MN. They are buried there.
Lennie was born Marin Oline Olsdatter Saether on 19 Feb 1873 (possibly 1870)in Nord Odal. Lennie or Len was a nickname from childhood. She left from Kristiansand
on the SS Virginia on 17 Feb 1894 and joined C.A. in South Dakota. The had 3 children-Lloyd,Tyler Steven "Steve" and Luella Emma (my grandmother). Lloyd died at 10 and one half months, Steve in 1964 at age 65, and "Lu" in 1938 at age 37 leaving 6 young children. They were active in the community affairs, the Lutheran Church and the Republican Party.
I have the name of a neice of Lennie's: Ragnild Breeby from Skormes,Norway. This was from the late 1950's.
Lennie was the 5th of 6 children and had 1 older sister and 4 brothers. All her siblings were dead by 1952 so there abouts. The 1930 U.S. Census shows a Bertha Berg, widowed aunt of C.A. living with them. I have been unable to find any information about their families in Norway. My aunt (Lu's daughter) located some family members when she lived in England and Scotland in the early 1970's but did not write any information down so it was lost when she died. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thank you. Lue Baker
