Subject: CHARLES WILLIAM MAGEE, HANSHER, THORTON

I am at a brick wall with my grandfather CHARLES WILLIAM MAGEE.
His death certificate, dated 1955 Terra Haute, IN., states his DOB as being June 4, 1893 Topeka, Kansas and his parents being WILLIAM and LUCY.
His marriage certificate from 1911 Topeka, Kansas states: his birth as being 1891, Kansas. His parents were Frank and Lucy.
His Obit. says his wife, at the time was LUCILLE THORTON.

He married Katie HARVEY in 1911 Topeka, she died in 1916 Topeka and is buried in Lawrence, Kansas. They had 3 children: Katherine Faye (MULLEN), RUTH IRENE (WINCE), Charles Andrew (Buster).

He then married LEONA HANSHER probably in Kansas. She is buried in Overbrook, Kansas. They had 2 children: Thelma DeForest, Milford Marion. Charles William left this family sometime in the 1930's.

After WW2 he was located in Terra Haute IN. by a son. Charles was then married to Lucille Thorton.

HINTS and PROBLEMS......
I have been unable to locate his birth certificate, the SS office cannot locate his original application. His obit. mentions several nieces and nephews were living. His oldest living Granddaughter says her Mother called his family "poor Irish immigrants". A son believed he had a sister named Jessie who lived in Topeka. I have found at least 3 CHARLES WILLIAM Magee's in the 1918's Topeka have traced them back to other researcher's only 1 has been accounted for (died in NEW MEXICO verified by Grandson). A obit found for ROBERT LEROY MAGEE 1918-2001 born in Topeka died in TN. (have been unable to locate any of his living relatives). List his parents as being CLAUDE MAGEE and LETHA HANSHER. It is believed his Mother was Leona (Charles 2nd wife's sister) the Hansher's were born in Daviess Co. , MO.

I am at a standstill at hope someone can make suggestions of what to do next. Any suggestions welcome!
