I've recently learned my grandmother, Peaches, was Ina(or Ines)Canterbury, surname Bassett. She was born in Penn. and I figure the year was 1889, because she was 30 yrs. old when she had my mother, in 1919. Peaches had siblings, at least a couple brothers, but I don't know names, or dates, or places. Peaches married Ray Canterbury, and were living in Bend Oregon at the time of my mother's birth. Peaches had 3 children, Max, Robert, and my mother, Ina Patricia,(she went by Patricia, not Ina) All of these people ended up in Washington State. My grandparents settled in Quilcene Wa. where he was an oyster farmer for many years and when he passed on, his son, Robert took over the business, and their oysters were known world wide. Max ended up in the Seattle area. He is the only existing one of the three, and he's 90 years old. I have his email, but don't know that I should give it out. I hardly know him, but if you find any info here that you want to pursue, just send me an email, and let me know, and I'll contact him for you, and then one of us will get back to you. I am very interested in the Bassett name, and hope you will share with me what you find out,if in fact these are members of your Bassett family.
Thank you, and Good Luck,
Pat Warfield (surname Rihtarich)
PS: my name is Patricia, but I go by Pat.
