Subject: EDWARD MURPHY 1823 - 1871 PEN AND INK DRAWINGS OF

I am after any information about pen and ink drawings that were done in Hobart, Tasmania and/or Melbourne, Victoria by Edward Murphy. Edward was a private in the 99th Regiment of Foot. He enlisted in 1840 and travelled to NSW as a guard on a convict ship. His regiment was then posted to Tasmania, where he was commissioned by the signal master of Hobart and some prominent families of the colony to draw. Some of his works are located at TMAG and at the SLNSW. It is possible that some of his works are also in private hands. Any information about his works in private hands will be treated with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
