Subject: CALDER/BUDD/BURSTON

Hi,
I am at a brickwall with my CALDER line and hope someone can help me out.
I descend from Horatio Nelson CALDER and Nancy BUDD (REINE). (Previously married to Michael REINE).
Horatio, born about 1806, Red River Settlement, (Assiniboia) Canada; died 1885, Washington County, Oregon; married Nancy BUDD, 01 Nov 1830, St John's, Red River Settlement; born about 1810.
Children: Sarah, Letita, John, Nelson, and Charles.

Charles CALDER, born 11 Jul 1848; died 04 Jun 1912, Roy, Pierce County, Washington; married Margaret Ann BURSTON, born 02 Dec 1860; died 29 Oct 1918, Roy, Pierce County, Washington.
Children: Annie, Emma, Ida, Clarence, Martha, John Nelson, Harry, Charles, Dewey, Zola, and Bernice.

I have conflicting information as to who Horatio's parents were. Some say James CALDER, born 1785 and Nancy LINDSAY, born 1786, were his parents. Other sources say John CALDER and Sarah HUMPHREY were his parents. Have not been able to determine which parents are his.

Horatio was to have left Red River with the Sinclair Party, Hudson's Bay Company, and arrived in The Dalles, Oregon, in 1841. This information came from John C. Jackson's book, titled: Children of the Fur Trade: Forgotten Metis of the Pacific Northwest.

Any help would be most appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
David Hutton,
Tacoma, Washington
