Subject: HECTOR, Frederick Evelyn (1869-1950)

My Great Grandfather, Frederick Evelyn Hector 1869-1950, came from Scotland (?) to Canada in the early 1900s, and settled in Exeter Ontario. Member of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers and served in the Boer War. He married Margaret Ella Whiffen 1871 - 196?. He then joined the Huron Regiment. Great grandad had a brother John Hector, 1864 - 1944 (married Margaret Fenton on 27/09/1893 in Grangemouth, Parish Polmont, County Stirling). They had 5 sisters, Emma, Caroline, Martha, Fanny and Rachel.

I am from Kingston ON Canada, my father was Herbert Edward Hector and my uncle lived in Toronto - James Edward Hector, son Teddy Hector. There was an Uncle David as well. All with military service WWII. I had a great uncle Herb Hector who lived in Hamilton ON.

Granddad was Sydney Frederick Hector, WWI, and they lived on a farm in Belleville Ont.

Any help to find the parents of Frederick Evelyn Hector are most welcome!!
