Not moving forward will only slow you down;
Standing still on a spinning world,
Now that might only make you more dizzy.
Upside down or sideways can be a confusing state of being.
You need to ride a rainbow even if it has no end;
Headlines only tell stories of those you've never known.
To always sit still and safe will not save you from old age,
It will only rock you there a little slower.
You know I think I've figured it all out,
So all you have to do is politely ask.
This crown I've earned and each thorn is placed just so;
Each thought hangs vicariously on a sacred point of pain.
You will have to serve somebody even if only yourself;
A loneliness of that will not take you beyond last breath.
Sometimes especially in dreams my mind truly does scare me,
Yet waiting any longer to catch up may never end my fears.
