There are neigbhors next door!
They are angry and sore!
They frustrate my effort to sleep!
These people lack consideration!
It leads me to frustration!
Their raised voices drive me to weep!
People blame me for their faults.
They swear about so many things.
It is now my time to run to the moon!
Here is where my interstellar angel sings!
He leads the stars to me.
They tame my terror with their heavenly glisten.
To the pain in my slumber, they always listen.
I run to the moon during the crash of my world!
Here is where nothing interferes with the stars of peace!
I am beyond the strife!

DEDICATION

This poem is based on many real-life situations. Another source of inspiration is one of my "Poetry in Motion Contest" entries.
Looking back on it now, this poem brings to mind (and has been inspired by a NUMBER of Savage Garden songs. These songs are "To the Moon and Back," "Two Beds and a Coffee Machine," "Carry on Dancing," and "Crash and Burn!" I can't leave out Cally Highfield's fictional work "There's Hope in the Darkness!"
Good Grief! If only Darren Hayes knew of his influence on my poetry writing! This would make me THE WORLD'S PROUDEST POET!
