I sit at the y in this road in my mind,
my route much easier to stay.
I feel you pulling me down your path,
the hatred still blocks my way.

Evil crashed into my world,
not an easy thing to forgive.
Will never forget the pain it all caused,
but somehow remembered to live.

Not only the pain that this has caused,
far worse the hurt of my child.
The feelings of that monster don't matter to me,
the thought of him makes me wild.

Easy to anger as if yesterday,
though it's been two years.
His freedom now comes far to soon,
which is why I'm bleeding some tears.

I know this road I'm meant to travel,
will help the pain to fade.
The hurt and hatred will not last,
to God who I have prayed.

I know he wants me to forgive,
I feel it in my soul.
I pray for strength for my child and I,
that one day we'll both be whole.
